Using Zenning in Slack

Choosing which channels Zenning joins

Decide where Zenning can see and help — join every public channel, or hand-pick the ones that matter.

What this page is for

By joining channels, Zenning can understand your workflows, spot repetitive tasks, and become a more useful teammate. This step lets you choose exactly where it has access. You can change this at any time.

Join all, or select channels

  1. 1

Join all public channels — the fastest option, giving Zenning the broadest context across your workspace.

The channel selection step during Slack onboarding
Choose to join everything, or select specific channels.
  2. 2

Select channels — opens a searchable list so you can hand-pick exactly where Zenning is active. Every channel is ticked by default, so you simply untick the ones you want to leave out.

Selecting specific channels

  1. 1

    Tap Select channels.

  2. 2

Use the search box to find a channel by name.

  3. 3

Tick or untick channels — the counter shows how many are selected.

  4. 4

Tap Join selected channels to continue, or Continue with all channels to add every one.

Changing your mind later

Nothing here is permanent. You can add Zenning to a new channel by mentioning @Zenning in it, and you can remove Zenning from any channel at any time straight from Slack.

Tip: Not sure where to start? Joining all public channels gives the best proactive results — you can always trim it back later.
