Using Zenning in Slack

Chatting with Zenning in Slack

Direct message Zenning or @mention it in a channel, and let it take action across your connected apps.

What this page is for

Once Zenning is in your workspace, talking to it feels just like messaging a colleague. This page covers the two ways to reach it and how to get the most out of each.

Direct messaging Zenning

  1. 1

Open Zenning under Apps in your Slack sidebar, or search for it, to start a DM.

A direct message conversation with Zenning in Slack
DM Zenning for private, one-on-one help.
  2. 2

Type what you need in plain English — a question, a task, or a request to do something in one of your apps.

  3. 3

Zenning replies right in the DM, and remembers the conversation as you go.

Mentioning Zenning in a channel

  1. 1

In any channel Zenning has joined, type @Zenning followed by your request.

  2. 2

Zenning reads the full thread for context before replying, so it understands what the conversation is about.

  3. 3

Keep the back-and-forth going in the thread — Zenning follows along like any other participant.

Tip: Mentioning Zenning in a busy thread is the fastest way to turn a discussion into action — “@Zenning summarise this and create a ticket”, for example.

Asking Zenning to take action

Because Zenning can use the apps you connected, you can ask it to do real work: draft and send an email, create a calendar event, look up a customer in your CRM, or post an update to another channel. Just describe the outcome you want.

Following up

Zenning keeps the context of your conversation, so you can refine its work with quick follow-ups like “make it shorter”, “send it to the whole channel”, or “schedule that for tomorrow morning”.
